I am a chemist specializing in organometallic and coordination complexes with applications in medicinal chemistry. My research explores the design and mechanisms of these compounds as cytotoxic, antiparasitic and antifungal agents, combining in vitro and in vivo studies to investigate interactions with biological targets (nucleic acids, proteins, and heme groups).
I hold a Ph.D. (2017) and M.Sc. (2013) in Inorganic Chemistry from the Federal University of S?o Carlos (Brazil), supervised by Prof. Alzir A. Batista, and a B.Sc. from the University of Zulia (Venezuela, 2011). As a postdoc (2017–2019), I expanded my expertise in analytical chemistry, focusing on plasma spectrometry (ICP-OES/MS) and Laser Ablation-ICPMS during a research stay at Ghent University (Belgium) supervised by Prof. Joaquim Araujo Nobrega and Prof. Frank Vanhaecke.
With 35 publications (1,150+ citations, h-index: 21), I’ve developed advanced skills in cell culture techniques (LABEN/UFSCar, LERC/Ghent) and multidisciplinary collaboration. Since 2024, I contribute as a Visiting Professor at GTIIT China.
