On summer campus, the enthusiasm for learning extends beyond classrooms to health activity sites. Recently, Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) held several themed events, including first aid training and a "Patriotic Public Health Month" campaign, empowering faculty and students with life-saving skills and health literacy.
Save at Critical Moment
To enhance the emergency rescue capabilities in GTIIT community, the university invited Ms. Liu Yang, Teaching Secretary of the Clinical Skills Center at Shantou University Medical College, together with the Shude Women's First Aid Volunteer Service Team, to conduct a first aid training session.

During the theory session, Ms. Liu focused on CPR, AED, and airway obstruction management. Using real cases, she explained the importance of the "golden four minutes" and broke down key steps including scene assessment, chest compressions, rescue breaths, and AED operation. Her teaching was professional yet engaging, earning rounds of applause.

During the hands-on session, the training team demonstrated CPR and AED procedures using mannequins, explained airway obstruction techniques, and provided one-on-one group guidance, correcting compression posture, depth, and frequency. Participants practiced enthusiastically and asked questions, mastering the skills in a focused and orderly atmosphere while effectively enhancing their emergency response capabilities.

Prevent in Everyday Routine
In response to the 38th "Patriotic Public Health Month" call, GTIIT recently launched a health campaign.
The event focused on four core areas: balanced nutrition, scientific exercise, prevention of vector-borne diseases, and prevention and management of chronic diseases. Nutrition and health management experts from the Cancer Hospital of Shantou University Medical College were invited to campus to provide one-on-one guidance.

The atmosphere was lively. The expert team answered questions on daily diet, sports injury prevention, and early signs of chronic diseases, offering targeted health advice. Various educational challenge games attracted many participants, allowing health knowledge to take root in a relaxed atmosphere.

Meanwhile, TCM activities like ear acupoint pressing and cupping drew crowds of faculty and students, who experienced the charm of traditional medicine firsthand.

The two events effectively enhanced the first aid skills and health literacy of faculty and students, injecting solid momentum into building a safe, healthy, and harmonious campus.
