Recently, the Third Congress of the Communist Youth League (CYL) of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) was successfully held. The congress comprehensively reviewed and summarized the work of the CYL during the previous period, elected a new committee, and drew a new blueprint for the development of the CYL at GTIIT.

Attendees included Lin Danming, Party Committee Secretary and Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Dong Yingjie, Deputy Secretary of the CYL Shantou Municipal Committee; Chen Yichun, Secretary of Shantou University Youth League Committee; Li Min, Deputy Secretary of GTIIT Party Committee and Secretary of GTIIT Youth League Committee; and Liao Xuequan, Director of GTIIT Student Affairs Department.

Words for Youth

Dong Yingjie affirmed the solid achievements of GTIIT’s CYL in ideological guidance, organizational development, and practical education, and praised its youth for embracing the country. She stated that the Municipal Committee will continue to deepen university-community collaboration to support the growth of GTIIT and jointly build a model for integrated CYL development. She encouraged young members to stay firm in their ideals, sharpen their skills, and take on responsibilities.

Lin Danming recognized the achievements of the university’s CYL in ideological guidance, organizational development, campus culture, and research practice since the Second Congress, noting that the CYL is a loyal assistant and reliable reserve force for the Party. He stated that the university will continue to create better conditions for CYL work, uniting young members to write a new chapter on the journey toward building a high-level research university.

Li Min delivered a work report on behalf of the Second CYL Committee, titled Gathering Youth Strength, Advancing Reform and Innovation, Contributing Youth Wisdom to the Building of a High-Level University of Science and Engineering. The report reviewed past achievements and experiences and outlined the main tasks and development initiatives for the new committee.

Election Moment

The congress reviewed and approved the work report of the Second CYL Committee and elected the members of the Third CYL Committee.

Subsequently, the first plenary session of the Third CYL Committee was convened. Li Min was elected Secretary, Chen Shaoxin and Cai Jialiang were elected Deputy Secretaries, and Zhong Lin and Wu Xinyao were elected Part-time Deputy Secretaries.

Taking this as a new starting point, the new CYL Committee will unite and lead all youth members to contribute their strength to the university’s high-quality development and Shantou’s modernization.
