On March 9, Prof. Lin Danming, Party Committee Secretary and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), delivered an inspiring lecture for the students at the Auditorium of GTIIT South Campus. He encouraged everyone to embrace changes amid the wave of technological advancement, hone their capabilities, and rise to challenges of the new semester with confidence and drive.
The year 2026 marks the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030). It will lay a solid foundation and open a new chapter for development in the next five years.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that it’s vital to promote the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent, and to strive for new breakthroughs in strengthening original innovation, tackling key core technologies, and seizing the commanding heights of science and technology. At the beginning of the lecture, starting from this important guiding principle, Lin Danming explained the historic mission of young students in this era. He said that as a Chinese-foreign cooperative university focusing on science and engineering, GTIIT is responsible for training international innovative talents. Every student should connect personal growth with national development, take on responsibilities, and contribute to making the nation strong in science and technology.

From the eye-catching Seedance 2.0 model to the robot dance at the Spring Festival Gala, these great technological achievements show the rapid progress of AI and robots in China. "In an era of rapid AI development, the question-driven education advocated by GTIIT is particularly important—only by learning to ask questions can we make AI better serve humanity," Lin Danming said. He encouraged students to think independently, ask valuable questions and challenge existing answers, so that they can take the lead in future technological innovation.

At the Milan Winter Olympics, the Chinese delegation achieved its best overseas result with 5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals. The lecture used powerful stories from the games to show how Chinese athletes strive for excellence and national pride, deeply moving the students. This spirit inspires them to focus on their studies, overcome research challenges, and reach for their own academic goals.
Just like Winter Olympic athletes breaking records, GTIIT graduates have also made great progress in their life. The lecture concluded by showcasing the remarkable achievements of GTIIT graduates in further studies and employment. Whether pursuing advanced degrees at world-leading universities or joining top tech companies, they are shining on bigger stages with their outstanding abilities, making the GTIIT story of "Dream it. Do it." even more brilliant.

At the start of the new semester, GTIIT students are ready to embrace new challenges. They know it’s vital to value their time, focus on their studies, and build a strong academic foundation — only then can they create a brilliant chapter worthy of their youth.
