The celebration of Israel's 75 Years of Excellence in Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation was held in Guangzhou Zhihui Park on June 11.
As a model of cooperation between Guangdong and Israel, Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) launched its latest enrollment policy at the celebration, hoping to attract more Chinese and foreign fresh high-school graduates who have just finished the college entrance examination.

Luo Jun, Deputy Director General of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, delivered a speech at the event. "Guangdong is among the earliest provinces in China to conduct cooperation and exchanges with Israel. Significant achievements were made in areas such as technological innovation, economic and trade cooperation, culture and tourism, joint educational programs, as represented by key projects like GTIIT and the Guangzhou Sino-Israel Biotech Investment Fund."

According to Luo, Guangdong's imports and exports with Israel in 2022 have reached a record high of 30.546 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 7.38%.
Luo emphasized that by leveraging platforms such as industrial parks and sister cities, he believes both sides will have more bountiful harvests in future cooperation.
Alex Goldman Shayman, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, introduced the branch campus of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (TIIT) in China— GTIIT — at the ceremony. He hailed GTIIT, which was founded in 2017 by TIIT and Shantou University, as a model for international scientific cooperation.

"The university will blend Israel's innovative and groundbreaking spirit with China's rich experience and resources. The school's cutting-edge research and high-quality education is a testament to what cross-cultural partnerships can do for us," Shayman said.
Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, told GDToday that the university has set up a diversity of scholarships and six undergraduate majors this year, including Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, Mathematics with Computer Science, Chemistry.
GTIIT Professor Moris S. Eisen also did some scientific experiments at the closing stage of the event, showing guests the latest research direction of GTIIT Chemistry.
