 Grieving Your Grievances

Colorful Owl with Chipped EarHave you noticed your mind complaining more? Are there nagging, unsettling feelings that need your attention? Now could be an opportune time to grieve your grievances. Before the pandemic hit, I purchased a colorful mug contoured to resemble an owl's face with protruding ears. My heart sank the day I opened the cupboard to find a chipped ear.

Briefly, sadness and anger co-existed in my body. Growing up in a family of nine, my thoughts quickly searched for who was to blame. Now that I live only with my husband, the list of possible suspects is short. Focusing on the culprit derailed my ability to simply grieve my loss. Read entire article...

Healing Grief by James Van Praagh

Healing Grief bookAs our world continues to change, you may find that you need to develop new emotional coping skills especially around grief. When my mother passed away, I was surprised to find that I had unresolved grief from my brother Jimmy's death. He died when he was 3 1/2 years old and I was 7 years old.

This book gives you background on how grief works. "Grief serves a very important purpose. It is a reaction to our loss. It represents our underlying sense of insecurity. Our fears of abandonment and feelings of vulnerability rise to the surface, forcing us to face them."

I recommend this book because it provides a way through writing to discover any hidden grief and ways to let it go.
